The other day in my office I had one of the most Holy moments I’ve ever experienced.
.
This book is the culmination of everything I’ve been called to. My calling in life is to help people so that they can help other people.
My dear friend Marcia wrote this book to tell the world they no longer have to sit in the seat of shame from sexual victimization; that they can rise from the ashes brave and strong and affirmed by the mighty healing love of God.
.
I was so privileged to start Marcia’s healing journey with her long ago and I have been so privileged to walk with her as she has put her heart on paper for others to heal. To be able to write the forward was an extreme honor. But then I opened my copy and realized she had included me in the dedication. That is by far one of the most Holy moments of my entire life; to see in print that my healing led to someone else’s healing who will heal so many more than I may ever reach.
.
The subject of sexual abuse and assault is by far one of the most painful and unfair issues I see in counseling. It has the capacity to tangle the mind And view of self in ways that little else can.
Determining to heal from sexual trauma takes an enormous amount of grit and determination… Deciding to go on and share that pain, expose your self, and put your story on display for others to heal from is in a whole other league.
Marcia I am so proud today to call you my friend and my family. Where you go I will go. Always and forever, I love you!
Buy this book. It will be like getting to take a walk with God.

The author was my closest childhood friend, and yet I had no idea she was a victim of childhood sexual abuse until she wrote this book. She had carried the weight of that secret for years, and the unwelcome burden wreaked havoc in her life.
Sexual abuse is horrific for anyone at any age, but when it happens in childhood, the victim is deprived of normal development. And when it isn't dealt with immediately, the wounds do not heal. Instead, the trauma, shame and secrets become an infection of the soul. This is the story of a woman who sought help for healing, and found it. She has a heart for others who have been living with wounds untended, their lives upended due to sexual abuse. Her story offers hope.
If you or someone you love have been wounded similarly, now is the time to take that first step toward healing. Read this story of someone who has been through it and is now on the other side, in the cleft of the Rock, where the Good Shepherd who is also the Great Physician has her safely in the palm of His hand.

The Letters to Brave Heart: The View from the Cleft is an awe-inspiring, faith-restoring, love-confirming view of the relationship between the Lord and His sheep, Braveheart. It demonstrates how no matter the trials and traumatic events we face in life, including sexual victimization, The Good Shepherd never leaves us, nor forsakes us. He carries us when we are bruised—physically, mentally, and/or spiritually, and comforts & heals us, as only He can.
Braveheart’s depiction of her journey to wellness brings that same comfort & healing to those who, too, have experienced the hurt, betrayal, shame, and stifling impact of victimization, restoring strength and hope to countless ones of God’s children who have had no voice. Thank you Marcia for bringing attention and volume to their cries.
Well done, thou good and faithful servant. You are His own, in whom He is, without question, well-pleased.

I am honored to know the author and blessed to call her friend. She has written a factual account of her life and the trauma she endured as a child. She could have lost her faith, but through God's grace, she not only survived, she has thrived. I applaud her bravery and her tenacity for hope. Child sexual abuse is still prevalent in our society and statistically it is someone you or your family knows. Keep vigil because children are everyone's business.

Very good book. As i read it i felt heart broken for the weight she was carring. All the emotions had to be so overwhelming and when she knew it was the right time to let go and talk about it i had goose bumps. Very worth reading! Sharon C

An inspiring story of the love and redemption readily available to every person through Our Lord Jesus Christ. He makes all things new. He can heal us in the most devastating circumstances if we turn to Him and allow Him to do His work. Brave Heart is truly aptly named.
Take this journey with Brave Heart as she delivers the raw truths of family "rules" and pours out of a wounded heart as she becomes a warrior! The story of the same Healer for each of us and His relentless pursuit of wholeness for His children.
This story is a journey through loss of innocence, shame, fear, betrayal, and into healing and rebirth through a never-ending faith in God our Father who never ever abandons us. It is inspiring and a must read, not only for those who are victims of sexual abuse, but for all
